Hi, it’s Ruth. I’m here at your Silver Creek Clogging Dance and Movement Center in Silverton, Oregon; it’s the home of Dance Classes that Make Kids HappyTM.

This is what’s happening at Silver Creek Clogging the week of December 28th.

This is the end of the year and also the beginning of next year. This is the perfect time to reflect on the past and then look ahead to the future. It’s the perfect time for our Dance and Dream Sessions.

Our Dance and Dream sessions: we’ve been holding them annually now for a few years and I look forward to them every year, because this is the time when students get to meet with their instructor one-on-one and look back at what happened in the last year. So, we’ll look back at what happened in 2020. We’ll celebrate with you all of your achievements, and everyone has achieved a ton this year.

We will then look ahead to the next year and what you want to accomplish next year, and will help you make a plan to follow to help you achieve your clogging dreams.

This is when we get to dream without any boundaries. Even if it’s something that you might not think is possible, but you would dream, that you know two or three years down the road, that you would be able to achieve something spectacular; then let’s talk about it and then we can make a plan for this year that can help you on the way to achieving your longer-term dreams.

I love these sessions every year. The link to sign up is in your email. We had sessions yesterday, we’ll have more sessions today, Tuesday the 29th, and then we have some more sessions available on Wednesday. So, if you haven’t already signed up for your Dance and Dream session, please do it. This is great.

It also helps us, as instructors, to know what it is that you are dreaming of so that, if we can help make that happen for you then, we want to do our part to help you reach your dreams.

So, those Dance and Dream sessions are happening (just for today and tomorrow are the last two days), so get your spot if you haven’t already.

I also have an update about competition. I, kind of accidentally, learned that we may not be having Portland competition this year; so, I reached out to America OnStage and they indicated that it doesn’t really look likely. But, they are going to update us with the COVID protocols for Portland and also Boise, hopefully this week, so we can make our plans for those two competitions.

So, for now please keep the first two weekends in February on your calendar. But, just know that Portland is looking not hopeful right now, okay?

I also want to let you know that next Saturday, January 9th, we’re going to be holding an online Discover Clogging workshop. As you know, this is our introductory (or trial) class for brand new, never having been clogging before, students and they can sign up at silvercreekclogging.com/discover if they want to join us.

And, yeah, we love sharing the joy of clogging with others. It’s really amazing how it’s almost universal that the first time somebody steps on the dance floor at Silver Creek Clogging with their clinky shoes, they hear that energetic music, that it just lights them up and they just are hooked after that first session.

So, we want to share this joy of clogging with everyone, because we know how it makes you feel on the inside. So, please share the word with your family and friends.

Coming up on our calendar for this [Friday] is first Friday and we’re doing something just a little bit differently this Friday. It’s New Year’s Day and we’re gonna have an online New Year’s Day celebration clogging workshop.

It’ll be this Friday, January 1st at 12:30 in the afternoon. So, just be aware of that; it’s earlier than we normally do it, so heads up.

Also, please keep Saturday, January 16th on your calendars, for our winter showcase recital. We know there’s a lot up in the air with COVID, but we are still planning on that and we’re making plans now for outdoor contingencies. So, please keep the 16th on your calendar in January and more information on that will come, once we have all the details squared away.

Also, until we hear more details (all the fine details) about the COVID protocols for competition, please keep both Portland (February 6th) and Boise (February 12th and 13th) on your calendars. Although it does look like Portland is unlikely to happen, just keep it on your calendar just in case. And then, we are planning on Boise still, so please keep that on your calendar. As soon as they have the protocols for COVID updated, on their website or via email, they will let us know and we will tell you as soon as possible.

All right, so that’s what’s coming up in the near future. Make sure to get your Dance and Dream session scheduled.

Also, I hope you have just a wonderful New Year celebration. I hope that New Year’s for you is a celebration of the triumphs that you’ve had in 2020 and a celebration of the hopes that you have for 2021.

And, with that, I wish you a Happy New Year and happy dancing!
