Hey. It’s What’s Happening at Silver Creek Clogging the week of August 30th.

I’m Ruth. I’m here at your Silver Creek Clogging Dance and Movement Center in Silverton, Oregon.

We are so, super-duper close to the end of August. We just have a couple of days left in August, and that means we are wrapping up our month-long Tapping into Excellence LeadershipTM focus on knowledge. And, I have a question for you. What did you learn in our month-long focus on knowledge?

I would love to know if you have started a new learning habit. I would love to know if you joined/enrolled in a new auto university or waiting university. I would even love to know if you were able to spend some time learning something new about the art of clogging or even something new about a person who has been an important contributor to our art form. I would love that.

If you would share what you’ve learned this month on our Facebook page or even tag us on Instagram. That would be amazing. Super love that.

I want to share with you a little quote to kind of round out our month-long focus on knowledge. Henry Ford said this, “If money is your hope for independence, you will never have it. The only real security that a person will have in this world, is a reserve of knowledge, experience, and ability.”

So, keep learning. Let’s keep learning together, actually. Let’s do it. That’s it. That’s what I got, all right. Knowledge; we’re wrapping up knowledge this week.

I am excited, because we have some staff changes coming. We’re gonna have new and returning staff members joining us in the classroom in September. Yay.  So, starting next week. Yay.

Some of our classes are going to have a new instructor and some of our classes are going to have a new addition to the classroom, in addition to the instructor, with a classroom aid who’s going to be helping in the class. And, really excited about that.

And, we, over the next few weeks, are going to be introducing our staff to you, so that you can get to know them; in our weekly emails, on our Facebook page/other social media accounts, and even our website. Check for information about our staff.

And, I’m really excited for you to meet these people. We have a really, really great team. We have an awesome team and, before I start getting emotional about what an awesome team we have, I’m just gonna say, “Keep a lookout on your weekly emails, on our social media, and our website for an introduction to our staff.” I’m really thrilled for you to meet them.

Here’s what we have on the calendar/studio events, and what’s coming up.

Let’s see, next Monday, September 6th we don’t have any classes; that’s Labor Day and we’re going to take that day off of classes.

The week of September 27th we’re gonna wear our studio t-shirt and some crazy socks to classes.

And, then, Saturday, October 16th (Woohoo!), we’re gonna party. We are gonna have a party, to celebrate our studio anniversary.  It will be our third year in this, our very own, studio home. So, we’re celebrating being here and can’t wait to have fun/celebrate with you guys. More information to come as the day gets closer, but just plan for that day.

The week of October 25th we’re gonna wear our non-scary, dance-friendly Halloween costumes to class.

And, then, next year we have two studio recitals; Saturday, January 22nd is our winter showcase. That is our informal, relaxed, low-key recital. Last year we even had it outside. Who knows what we’ll do this year, maybe we’ll have it outside again this year. We will see.

And, then, Saturday, June 4th is our theater recital. So, that’s a little bit more formal recital; on the stage and all that. It’s going to be really awesome.

So, please plan for those two days; January 22nd and June 4th. Those are our studio recitals.

We do have a couple of potential community performances that we’re still working on. One is the Farmers’ Market and that does look like that’s gonna happen, we’re still trying to work out the details of that. So, keep on the lookout for those details.

And, then, the Davenport House. With the way things are right now, I’m not sure, exactly, when we’re going to get there, but I don’t want to forget that. That’s a really important performance. So, we’re keeping that on our list of events and performances, and we hope that you will keep that on yours as well.

So, that’s what’s on the calendar. Remember to mark those on your calendars.

And, remember to share with your instructor, or share on the studio’s Facebook page, or tag us on Instagram with what you’ve learned this month as we’ve been focusing on knowledge. Yeah? What knowledge have you gained? What intelligence or wisdom have you gained this month? We would love to hear about that, and we’ll see you in classes.

And, of course, happy dancing.
