Hey. It’s What’s Happening at Silver Creek Clogging the week of September 27th.
I’m Ruth. I’m here at your Silver Creek Clogging Dance and Movement Center in Silverton, Oregon.
This week, in classes, it’s wear your studio t-shirt and some crazy socks to class. So, come prepared to show team pride and have fun while you’re at it. Should be great. I love it. If you don’t have a studio t-shirt or if your studio t-shirt is not clean… crazy socks. Love the crazy socks. Can’t wait to see them.
This month, September, our Tapping into ExcellenceTM leadership focus is on compassion. It’s been a really great month. Our students and our staff members have been busy and growing. It’s been, for me, particularly rewarding and powerful to watch our students as they have been thinking about and learning to integrate random acts of kindness into their daily lives. I can see the difference when we actually start thinking about these things on a regular, ongoing basis. It just really helps us to learn and grow and I can see that our students are learning how to develop compassion. So, that is huge; because compassion is critical for leaders, it’s critical for us in our everyday lives, and we are really proud of our students and what we’ve seen from our whole studio community this month.
And, we would love to hear… If you have a particular story that you want to share about your student, we would love to hear it. It just helps us to know when we are catching our students doing the right things and it helps us to be able to recognize them.
So, yeah, let us know if you’ve seen something that you want to share about how your student has grown and developed that compassion muscle this month, we would love to hear it so that we can make sure that your student gets recognized.
So, what’s on the studio calendar/upcoming events?
Well, of course, this week is, wear your studio t-shirt and crazy socks to class.
And, Saturday, October 16th – this is a fun one. Put it on your calendars, because we’re gonna party. It’s our studio anniversary party. This October, in just a few weeks, it will be the anniversary of our third year in this, our very own, studio home and we’re going to celebrate. So, we’re going to have food, we’re going to have activities; it’s just going to be a fun time to just get together, get to know each other/other members of our studio community, so please put that on your calendars.
The week of October 25th is, wear your non-scary, dance friendly Halloween costume. I am getting mine ready, can’t wait to see yours.
And, also, Thanksgiving – the week of Thanksgiving – so, Wednesday, November 24th through that Saturday, November 27th, no classes. We will only have our Monday, Tuesday classes the week of Thanksgiving and the rest, we’re going to have our Thanksgiving break.
In December, the week of December 12th, we’re going to wear our ugly holiday shirts or whatever – something fun – holiday get up to class.
Into next year, Saturday, January 22nd, we’re gonna have our winter showcase recital.
And, then, Saturday, June 4th is our summer kickoff recital.
So, just a heads up on those. Please keep those on your calendars.
We are working to get into the farmers market, so we’ll give you a heads up when we have the dates for that.
And, then, Davenport House, I just don’t want to lose track of that one, because it’s super important, so we’re just keeping that on the list.
Please put these dates and these events on your calendars. We can’t wait to have everyone together for these all-studio activities. It really means a lot to our community and you mean a lot to our community. Thank you, so much, for being part of Silver Creek Clogging.
